JJBC has a considerable network of media contacts across the United States with a strong focus on New York State & New York City. Using our array of expertise, we are able to develop strategic media plans to supplement our clients' lobbying efforts to promote their public policy goals. Our firm also offers media monitoring services allowing clients to track issues of interest while watching for emerging concerns that could impact their business.

    John J. Boltz * Principal
    John has significant experience in National, State and Regional politics. He has served as a former Staff Member in both the New York State Assembly and the New York State Senate. Professionally, Mr. Boltz has managed Business Regulation, International Trade, Energy & Commerce and Agricultural issues for the US Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Boltz has also directed the Government Affairs program for Philip Morris in New York and in surrounding states. In 1993, Mr. Boltz founded John J. Boltz Consulting - a successful Albany, NY-based government affairs and media relations firm. Mr. Boltz has a B.A. degree in Political Science from Long Island University and a M.A. in American Politics and Political Institutions. A student of politics, Mr. Boltz intensely studies the impact of demographic change in New York State and across the country and what that means for public policy. Mr. Boltz is registered to lobby on behalf of clients at the state and local levels.

    Christina Bolton
    Ms. Bolton is the Director of Government Affairs, has 18 years of professional experience with John J. Boltz Consulting. She earned her Bachelor's in Business from the University of Phoenix. In her Government Affairs role, Ms. Bolton is in charge of planning and implementing annual business lobbying day/conferences, developing, coordinating and implementing affirmative and defensive lobbying activities in response to legislative, regulatory and executive actions. She creates and maintains databases of all legislative bill introductions and status for bills, attends and reports on Public Hearings, represents clients at government and political functions, and creates and maintains weekly reports of legislative activities for clients.
  3. Barbara J. Ahern Esq.
    Barbara J. Ahern Esq.
    Barbara J. Ahern, Principal, has over twenty-five years of experience in New York State and specializes in lobbying legislative and regulatory issues, and providing legal representation for businesses and professional licensees on regulatory matters. Ms. Ahern has represented a wide variety of businesses and industries before the legislature and regulatory agencies, including manufacturers, insurance trusts, the pest control industry, construction industries, hearing aid dispensers and veterinary medicine. While their issues have extended across a variety of different fields, she has built up a particular expertise in professional regulation and in environmental issues. She has become well-known and respected as a strong advocate for business and professional organizations. She works hard to develop coalitions that will work together on difficult issues. Ms. Ahern received her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1976 cum laude, from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA, and her Juris Doctor degree from Albany Law School (Union University) in 1981. She was admitted to the New York State Bar and to the federal courts in New York in 1982.
